Kebanyakan Muslim akan terfikir yang kebanyakan masjid atau musolla di Tokyo adalah terletak di bandar Tokyo. Akan tetapi kami berjaya menjumpai beberapa masjid atau musolla yang terletak di luar bandar Tokyo seperti masjid yang kecil dan comel ini iaitu Masjid Hira di Ichikawa, yang terletak 18 minit perjalanan dengan kereta daripada Tokyo Disneyland dan 5 minit berjalan kaki daripada Stesen Gyotoku.

The Assalaam Muslim foundation was originally used as a place for worship for Muslim people residing in Japan. It was renovated approximately two years ago to make a new facility. There are two facilities inside the same building, which are community center called Everyone’s plaza and a mosque called Assalaam Masjid.

Muslim people can attend service in Assalaam Masjid. Ueno is a major tourist attraction, so we get visitors from around the world.

Assalaam foundation is a non-profit, non-political organization. We are a religious and educational organization that carries out a variety of study meetings on Islam. We cooperate with a near-by kindergarten to give teachings on Islam to children once a week.

Explain to Japanese as well as non-Japanese people on Islam
Support people that are new to Islam or are considering converting to Islam
Develop appropriate education system sensitive to Muslim people

Name of Masjid in my town is Ebina Masjid in Ebina Kanagawa prefecture. Masjid was built 14 years ago. People come together in worship to build up to the third floor, 400 people at the time pray. It is 15 minutes walk from the Mosque to Ebina satation..Imam of the mosque is a person of Sri Lanka. Not only neighbors to come for 5 time of salat of the day but also about 500 people on Friday of collective worship and come about 500 people Saturday night .Dinner with everyone after pray of Saturday night. On the back of the Mosque have flow Sagami River it beautiful views from the rooftop of the Mosque, because everyone is coming by car on Friday .since Mosque parking next to the Mosque everyone is not unstoppable .We have got the permission as everyone can be parked next to the Sagami River from Ebina government office and everyone thanks to city office since a lot of people come every day in Ramadan .Everyone can be pooled diligently money we have renovation occasionally Mosque. Our business meeting last week, which was held in Honmachi-an area at the center of Osaka City, ended when the sun was about to set. For a moslem, it is a specific time to perform sunset (Maghrib) prayer. If I were at home or at the office, I would perform the salat right away. However, being in a public place, I had to find a certain space to perform salat, for example at public parks, near an emergency exit, or in certain quiet places where there were less passerby and less disturbance towards other people. After taking ablution (wudu – Islamic procedure for washing parts of body using water in preparation for salat ), I placed the prayer mat at the place and performed salat. The condition is a lot different in a moslem majority country like Indonesia, we can easily find masjid everywhere, therefore, there is no need for us to perform salat in public places.

Things get slightly different nowadays, I perform maghrib prayer inside Namba CITY shopping mall, a mall in the center of Osaka. No, not near the emergency exit, but, inside a mushola (a special room to perform salat ). It was officially built by Nankai Train Company and launched on 30th September 2014.

The 50m2 space is divided into two separate rooms for male and female by using partition, and is also equipped with spaces for ablution in the consecutive rooms. We can find an arrow at the ceiling as a sign to direct us to face qibla (Mecca : a certain direction to perform salat ). The place is available from 11:30am to 20:30pm.

The praying room is located inside the main building of the shopping mall, Namba CITY, at level B1, near the Nankai Namba station. We are allowed to use the room by previously confirming the nearest information counter to get permission and have the door opened.

The existence of the mushola is very important for the moslems who reside in Osaka. We are now able to perform our religious activities quietly and it surely makes our time more efficient as we are no longer confused on how to find a proper place to pray. Hence, we are very grateful.

TANSEISHA Co., Ltd. exhibited its “Wanoma” prayer room at the “Tourism EXPO 2014” held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 26 (Fri) to 28 (Sun).

This prototype worship and prayer room created by TANSEISHA is designed to help travel and tourism officials and local governments, etc. accept and support Muslim travelers.

This prayer room will contribute to the establishment of an accepting environment for foreign travelers as well as become a hot topic in tourist destinations across the country.

The “Wanoma” prayer room incorporates the spirit of omotenashi (hospitality) and spatial design unique to Japan while also providing an environment which considers the customs of Muslims.

TANSEISHA plans to develop variations including permanent-type, shop-type, and unit-type prayer rooms.
