Pada 23 Julai, Sano Masjid telah dibina semula dan dibuka kepada semua orang termasuk Muslim yang tinggal di sekitar kawasan dan semua jiran Jepun.

Pembinaan semula masjid ini dirancang pada Oktober lalu dan menyelesaikan pembinaannya oleh Muslim dari beberapa negara seperti Indonesia.

Kemudian, kita dapat melihat Muslims berkomunikasi dengan penduduk Jepun di sini ketika memakan masakan Indonesia yang dibuat oleh tuan rumah.

Di samping itu, kakitangan Kedutaan Besar Indonesia, Naib Datuk Bandar, wakil dari Jawatankuasa Promosi Masuk Masuk Ryomo Muslim bernama Encik Goka mengambil bahagian dalam acara ini dan memberi ucapan untuk meraikannya.

Peserta Islam meninggalkan kata-katanya “Kami harap ini menggalakkan orang ramai untuk memperdalam pemahaman Islam. Dan kita akan menjadi perhatian untuk tidak mengganggu kejiranan “.

HALAL EXPO JAPAN merupakan ekspo Halal terbesar di Jepun. Ekspo ini diadakan buat pertama kalinya pada tahun 2014 dan tahun ini merupakan kali ketiga.

With six Japanese companies participating, and all 45 products, there will be up to about 2,000 items. For the four days of the fair, and for one month at the HUB, consumers will be able to actually try the food and give feedback to the Japanese companies about areas for improvement, with the intent of making it more likely that consumers will demand these products.

Such halal certified products as Sakura Jam from KAPPOU YAMA, Green Tea from UNOIKE SEICHA FACTORY, Zaru Chasoba from SHIGENO SEIMEN, and Yuzu Miso from YUZURIKKO, etc., will be exhibited.

In addition, as a Japan Incubation Program, non-pork and non-alcoholic products that are scheduled to apply for halal certification will be exhibited, including Dry Fruits “Mind of Orange” from SHEFTY INTERNATIONAL, Red Pepper Chili Oil from FWS Japan, as well as juice, jelly, marmalade, and dried fruit made from Ehime Prefecture mandarin oranges.

All are products that were very popular at the JAPAN HALAL EXPO 2014 venue. Will Singapore consumers react in the same way? With food samples and sales at each venue in Singapore, definitely please try before it sells out!!

Rainy and cold weather, microphone and projector problem but beside these a humble event about Halal food and warm hearted people full of saloon. NAHA (Nippon Asia Halal Association) organized a mini program at Pakistan Embassy on last Thursday and invited halal certified companies as a small expo. Mr. Saeed Akhtar summarized all basic information about and around the term of halal. In his presentation importance of halal mark and other international halal certification organizations mentioned. Even though this was NAHA organized presentation, the message of knowledge of halal mark should be gained from any source and every source. This perspective is important to increase the knowledge and awareness of the term of halal. Even Islam is not well explained in Japan, when starting to topic from the middle may cause some misunderstood points. That is why every sincere step taken on this purpose eventually gives its fruits. At the end both side will win, Japan would be more intercultural effected country and more non-Japanese people would choose Japan without hesitation.
One more important point about the Halal seminar, as dear ambassador pointed that halal food is scientifically healthy and better than others. Till now this point was missed but this is a key point which can be accepted by everyone since it can be proved by measurable facts. Even in some western countries people discuss this issue but not mentioning or discarding about halal and non Muslim people choose halal meat just because healthier. Japanese halal market is just beginning so there are many things to be done. One of them is advertising halal for non-Muslims. This may not sounds so logical but surely acceptable and accountable movement.

Located in the western side of Chiba Prefecture, Chiba University has been known as one of the public university that accept a high number of various International students every year ranging from Italians, Germans, Hungarian, Arabians, Iranians, Americans, Turks, Uighurs, Indonesians, Mongolians, Chinese, Koreans), and from some of the countries in Central Asia such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. I am one of the International student myself and usually this International atmosphere could actually be experienced when coming to what we International students would call the “International Area of Chiba Univerisity” stretching from the building of International Supporting Desk where many of us usually come to learn Japanese, to the English House near the Student Support Building where many of us would usually mingle together, meeting and eating while chatting in English with other students and also with the Japanese students. Also one of the area that will surely be visited by us is the school Cafetaria.

We realized that the number of Moslems in our university is high, and that is why some free spaces within the university compound might have been transformed into Mushallas (a small praying room), and that might be why we also have our own mosque established near the university.
As the number of the International Moslem students that come to the university is increasing every year, Chiba University which recently is advancing to become the Super Global University has decided to give the full support concerning the diet of Moslem students that consisted of Halal ingredients. To realize their support, on December 17 2014 for the first time a Halal Food Buffet Party was held in the school cafeteria – an event too worth to be missed.

This event was held not only to introduce the Halal menu recommendation for the Moslems, but to also introduce the Halal mind itself to the visiting people including the Japanese and other International students. To the Moslems, Halal means ‘permissible’ as in any action or object which is permissible to use or engage in according to the Islamic law. In Islam, the word Halal used mainly in food reference to designate foods that is permissible to eat or drink under Islamic Shari’ah. It specified both what foods are allowed and how the food must be prepared and it mostly deals with the types of meat and animal tissues. As it was known that the preparation of the meat consisting of praying before cutting the animal, in Japanese, a pleasant term such as “お祈りした肉” is sometimes used to explain the word ‘Halal’ simply.

In this event, the foods recommended were Japanese home-cooking style including Kara-age Chicken (fried chicken), Gyuu-niku Jyaga (Potato and Beef Stew), Chicken Tomato Sauce, Grilled Chicken and also Gyuu-don (Beef Rice Bowl) and all of these foods will be in the daily menu of Chiba-U cafeteria starting next year and also The Halal Food Supporting Board members collaborating with the cafeteria chef said that they will change the menu some time in every year so that the Halal food that could be eaten would vary. I am sure that the Moslems would be happier to know this, since from now on we know that we would not need to be worry about the foods that we can find near us since the Halal foods are provided by the campus thanks to the Halal Food Supporting Board and Chiba Univeristy.

Sumida Ward had invited 20 Muslim guests who are living in Japan for the “Walk around Sumida ward / Japanese cuisine restaurant / geisha experience”.

Sashimi, Tempura, Sushi, Nimono, Sukiyaki and Desert were served, all in halal in-gredients.

The majority of Muslim participants said they liked sukiyaki best.
After the chef provided a thorough explanation of the ingredients and the cooking method, the participants commented that they were able to enjoy the food with a peace of mind.

The geisha entertainment experience was a first for all of the participants, and every-one was fully satisfied with the program, not forgetting the interesting communication exchange with the geishas. Participants were excited about informing this experience to their friends.

Gearing up toward the Olympics 2020, Japan will engage in active preparation for the visiting tourists.

In accordance to the significant increase in the number of Muslims visiting Japan, especially during the Olympics which will be held in Tokyo in the year 2020, there is indeed a need to improve the Halal environment in Japan.

Generally, the Japanese food sold in the market uses ingredients that are not suitable for Muslims’ consumption, such as sake (Japanese traditional liquor) and pork.

Muslim tourists in Japan frequently encounter difficulties to get consumable traditional Japanese food. They would usually have to ask the shop or restaurant owners concerning the ingredients of the dish or food they sell, because most eateries have not got any Halal signs at their shops or restaurants. For packaged food, Muslim buyers would read the ingredients at the back of the packaging but then again, only Muslims who are able to read kanji could ever understand what is written on the package. It is definitely inconvenient for those who aren’t able to read kanji. Therefore, it will be good if the food producers could print the Halal logo on their product packages to allow Muslim tourists to make easier purchases.

The Japan Halal Expo 2014 which will be held in Chiba Prefecture on the 26th and 27th November at the Makuhari Messe International Conference Hall would significantly increase the awareness of many, on the efforts to promote a Halal environment in Japan. Japan Halal Expo 2014 is the first Halal Expo ever held in Japan, focusing on related Halal issues in Japan through seminars and exhibition. This event is sponsored by various institutions who issue official Halal certificates both Japan and abroad; such as in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, India, and participants from Malaysia and Turkey.

By organising this Expo, we expect more businessman and business women to join the Halal business, in order to work towards the expansion of the Halal environment and in turn, attract more Muslim tourists to visit Japan or purchasing Japanese food products.

In case you are unaware, Halal food does not mean that they are only consumable for Muslims, it is also consumable for any non-Muslims; the general public. By implementing the Halal logo on your food products, the market share for your business will also grow significantly. Furthermore, it would provide a better experience for Muslim tourists during their visit to Japan; convenience and the ease of purchase.
